• PL-300: Course Overview

  This course covers the various methods and best practices that are in line with business and technical requirements for modeling, visualising, and analysing data with Power BI. The course will show how to access and process data from a range of data sources including both relational and non-relational sources. Finally, this course will also discuss how to manage and deploy reports and dashboards for sharing and content distribution.

  In this Learning Path, you’ll learn how to:

  • Turn data into interactive, actionable insights with Power BI Desktop visuals and reports.
  • Publish Power BI reports to the Power BI service.
  • Create workspaces, manage related items, and data refreshes for up-to-date reports.
  • Implement row-level security to restrict user access to relevant data without the need for multiple reports.
  • Learn what a Power BI semantic model is, which data loading approach to use, and how to build out your semantic model to get the insights you need.

• PL-300: Prerequisites

  Successful Data Analysts start this role with experience of working with data in the cloud.

  Specifically:

  • Understanding core data concepts.
    Knowledge of working with relational data in the cloud.
  • Knowledge of working with non-relational data in the cloud.
  • Knowledge of data analysis and visualisation concepts.

  You can gain the prerequisites and a better understanding of working with data in Azure by completing Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals before taking this course.
